Traditional architecture in the old town, and medieval churches all around the lake.
Many sunny days.
Cristal clear water good for swimming from late May till late Oct. (depending how cold person you are :))
Rare species of people who hibernate from late Sept. till late May.
If you are interested in cultural, sports, rural, religious tourism, this is a place to go. If you are also interested in good food, wine and spirits, traditional architecture, photography, boat trips and discovering an unexplored world of multi-ethnic society, than Ohrid must be your next destination.
Alternative tourism is developing rapidly, which gives you plenty of choices of accommodation. Rooms to rent on the old fashion way, modern villas or alternative friendly hostels is what you can choose other than a classical hotel offer.
I wonder why Macedonian people believe that it deserves to be visited only in summer time (maybe it is because of the hibernation process of the hosts, still bear in mind that some of us are always awake :)). Contrary, Ohrid lake and the surrounding, offers attractive tours and outdoor adventures all year round. Check it out and we guarantee you will remember it for a lifetime.
